I graduated with Honors from the University of Washington in 2004 with a Bachelors degree in English, then got my Masters of Arts in Teaching in 2006 from The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. I taught for two years in Baltimore, then moved back to my hometown and worked at West Seattle High School and Rainier Beach before coming to Ingraham. I strongly believe that the work that we do in a Language Arts class extends beyond the assigned reading, and I encourage and expect students to make connections to other texts (movies, music, magazines), their own experiences, and the historical and current events in our community and world.
